You can choose wines by the glass, non-alcoholic options, or a wine pairing menu priced at SEK 1795. Dinner at Faviken costs about 140 euros per person and ditto for a wine selection. Staying with two costs about 225 euros, breakfast for two included. The restaurant is only open evenings from Wednesday to Saturday.

The remote two-Michelin-starred dining room will run its last service on 14 December after 11 years in business. Nilsson wrote on Instagram this weekend that though it was a “hard decision” he knew it was “the right one” for the restaurant, which is already fully booked until its closure.. Faviken is a beautiful book about the very unique cuisine served at the remote restaurant of the same name in Sweden. Most of the book consists of text explaining the restaurant, about the meat, fish, and plants used. there are gorgeous pictures as well throughout the book. Chef Magnus Nilsson came very close to closing his remote two-Michelin-star restaurant Fäviken in Järpen, Sweden – not because of money worries, or staffing issues (there is an “endless stream” of people who want to work there, he says), or a calamity caused by the extreme weather in that part of the country, but because, he and his partners were, well, just a bit miserable.
